Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 2026

This policy explains how DueBy Budget Planner ("DueBy", the "App"), provided by Todd Lahman LLC, handles your information, on your devices and on this website.

Your data stays in your control

Your bills, subscriptions, income, plans, notes, and attachments are stored on your device. If you use DueBy on more than one device, that data syncs only through your own Apple Account's private iCloud storage. It never touches our servers, and we cannot read it. If you share a household with other people, the bills you choose to share sync through Apple's iCloud sharing to the people you invited, and only to them.

No account

DueBy has no sign-in and stores nothing about you on our systems. You enter bills yourself, import a file, or scan a paper bill; scanning runs on your device. In the United States and Canada you can also choose to connect a bank account, described in the next section. DueBy itself never asks for your bank username or password.

Bank connections through Plaid (optional)

If you subscribe to DueBy Pro with the Bank Sync add-on, sold per connected bank, you can connect a bank or card account so recent transactions appear in DueBy and are matched to your bills. Bank connections are available in the United States and Canada, are off until you turn them on, and are provided through Plaid Inc. ("Plaid"), a service that connects apps to financial institutions.

When you connect an account, you sign in to your bank inside Plaid's own Link screens. Your bank username and password go to Plaid or directly to your bank; they are never shown to DueBy and never pass through our systems. Plaid then gives DueBy a token that allows read-only access to the accounts you selected. Plaid's collection and use of your information is governed by Plaid's End User Privacy Policy, and you can see and manage every app you have connected through Plaid at my.plaid.com.

Through Plaid, DueBy retrieves the name of your institution, the name and last few digits of each account you chose, and your transactions: date, amount, merchant or description, category, and whether a transaction is still pending. DueBy does not retrieve or store your account numbers, routing numbers, balances, or identity documents, and cannot move money.

Requests to Plaid pass through a small relay service we operate at dueby.app whose only job is to add our Plaid credentials to your request and pass the reply back to your device. The relay keeps no database, stores no tokens or transactions, and does not log the contents of what passes through it. Your Plaid token is stored in your own iCloud Keychain, and the transactions are stored on your device and in your private iCloud like every other bill, where we cannot read them.

We use bank data only to show your transactions and match them to bills. We never sell it, never use it for advertising, and never share it with anyone other than Plaid and your bank as needed to provide the connection. DueBy checks for new transactions about once a day when you open the App, plus a limited number of manual refreshes.

To disconnect a bank, open Settings › Bank Connections in the App and remove it. This tells Plaid to revoke the connection and deletes the token from your Keychain. Transactions already imported stay in DueBy as ordinary entries until you delete them or delete the App's data. You can also revoke DueBy's access at my.plaid.com or ask Plaid to delete the data it holds, as described in Plaid's policy.

Apple Card and Apple Cash (optional)

On iPhone you can turn on matching for Apple Card and Apple Cash. With your permission, DueBy reads your recent Apple Card and Apple Cash transactions through Apple's on-device FinanceKit framework, only to suggest which bill a charge belongs to. The transactions are processed and shown on your iPhone, are never uploaded anywhere, and are never used for advertising or shared with anyone. You can withdraw access at any time in Settings › Privacy & Security › Wallet, and the matches are removed with the App's data when you delete it.

Reminders and notifications

Bill reminders are scheduled on your device. DueBy does not use a push server; nothing about your bills is sent to us to deliver a notification.

Purchases

DueBy Pro is sold through Apple's App Store. Apple handles payment; we never see your card or billing details. Apple provides us with anonymous receipt data to confirm the purchase on your devices.

This website

If you write to us through the contact or support form, or join the launch list, your name, email address, and message are delivered to our inbox by a third-party email provider so we can reply. We keep the correspondence only as long as needed, and you can ask us to delete it at any time. The site uses cookieless, aggregate performance analytics from our hosting provider; no advertising trackers, no cross-site tracking.

No tracking, no selling

DueBy contains no analytics SDK and no advertising. We do not track you across apps or websites, and we never sell or share your data with data brokers.

Deleting your data

Since there is no account, there is nothing on our side to delete. Deleting the App removes its data from that device. To remove the synced copy from iCloud, open Settings › your name › iCloud › Manage Account Storage on your iPhone, choose DueBy, and delete its data. If you connected a bank, remove it in Settings › Bank Connections first so the connection is revoked at Plaid.

Children

DueBy is intended for adults managing their own finances. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has given us information through this website, contact us and we will remove it.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it, and material changes are noted in the App's release notes.
